Retired Ghanaian Professional Footballer Manuel Agogo hospitalized for suspected stroke.


Ghanaian retired professional footballer and former Bristol Rovers striker Manuel Junior Agogo is believed to have suffered a stroke.

Well-wishers have taken to twitter offering their support to the retired striker and his family.

    Poor Junior Agogo and his family. Wish him a speedy recovery. Still the player that I enjoyed watching the most. Could literally win a game

Agogo played for Bristol Rovers between 2003 to 2006 before moving to Nottingham Forest.

It is believed Agogo was rushed to hospital on January 29,2015.

Adidas is also keen on Lionel Messi to join Chelsea FC and are prepared to help pay the transfer fee.
The mystery as to whether the Spanish side FC Barcelona  is ready to let go of their foward Argentine professional to their English rival Chelsea FC is yet be solved.

Avram Grant: I want my team to give everything


remigh.blogspot.com-Avram-GrantAvram Grant achieved surprising international attention as replacement for Jose Mourinho after his first stint as Chelsea manager in 2007, but the 59-year-old manager's coaching history stretches back over four decades. The former Israel, Portsmouth, West Ham United and Partizan Belgrade boss was appointed to lead Ghana into the upcoming CAF Africa Cup of Nations in November, and he recently spoke to FIFA.com about the challenges for the Black Stars, his expectations and the continental finals in Equatorial Guinea, which begins on 17 January.
FIFA.com: You have been tasked to 'do well' at the AFCON. Is the team capable of achieving that goal?
Avram Grant: I will be as happy as anybody when we are scoring goals and winning games, and I will be as sad as anyone when we are losing games. We want to do well in Equatorial Guinea, and as a coach I need to be very focused until the final moment and that is what will happen at the competition.
What do you think of your opponents in Group C – South Africa, Senegal and Algeria?
We want to win every game, but we will also need to stay within our process. Algeria is the best ranked team in Africa currently, and they were Africa's best performers in Brazil at the World Cup too, while South Africa have done very well including denying Nigeria, the defending champions, a place and chance to defend their title. And Senegal is a very good team and it will be tough. It is a hard task, but we all know there are no easy games, especially with this group.
Do you have enough time to put together a strong side for the AFCON given the short span of time since your appointment, and is there a way back for players who were dropped from previous squads?
I have been following the exploits of all the Ghanaian players and those that I know I will be working with. The door is open for every player, but, they need to show that they are willing to sacrifice for the national team. To prepare a team in a short time, I dare say it looks impossible, but it is better than nothing. If you have to prepare a team like that, it is better to speak with the senior players. I can assure you that every day when we step onto the pitch, we will want to win. Not even a draw is ever good enough. I will count on players with a strong mentality who can give everything on the pitch. That is what I want you to see.
Do locally-based players have a chance to make the squad?
I will be [in Ghana] to watch the local league a lot. I want to see them, so I will scout in the local league a lot and those who deserve a chance will have it. I will be very happy to see players that I think will help the national team. I also want to contribute to the development of the game here.
What do you look for in players?
The national team is more important than any individual, so if each individual has the quality to improve the national team and he is willing to sacrifice, he is welcome. First, I believe in good football, which requires a good technique, but you always need a balance. The philosophy is to attack and defend all together.
You have somewhat of a reputation as a stop-gap manager. Do you prefer longer spells in charge of teams?
I will be here for two years and three months and I hope everyone will be happy. I would like to be here for a long time to come - even until the next World Cup, as long as everyone is happy and we can continue, even for 20 years. I always like to work for a long period with any team. The first thing I want to do is get to know my players by using the short time available now and then plan for the future. The dream of every coach is to do really well and take care of the future.
It sometimes isn't easy to gain visas for travel in Africa. Do you think as an Israeli citizen that will be an issue?
I do not see any problem about my passport. I am a football person and football is an international language. I have been all over the world, including some countries that people said that I cannot go to. I hope no body judges me by anything including my passport. I am a football man, and I want to be trusted as such and there should be no problems.

Atletico Madrid loan deal for AC Milan striker Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres admitted it was "another dream" to rejoin boyhood club Atletico Madrid on loan, just two days after agreeing a permanent move to AC Millan from Chelsea.
The Spaniard agreed to make his loan switch from the English Premier League leaders to the San Siro a permanent one on 27 December, but by the 29 December he was announced as an Atleti player on loan until the summer of 2016. The move, confirmed on the website of the Spanish La Liga champions, sets the 30-year-old up for an emotional return to the Vicente Calderon.

He told clubatleticodemadrid.com: "I'm going to Atletico in the pursuit of my happiness. When I was a child, my dream was to play for Atletico. I achieved that and to come back now is another dream I get to accomplish again. I've been fine with other teams, but there isn't one like Atleti."
A lifelong fan of Los Rojiblancos, Torres did not celebrate when Chelsea scored against Atletico in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season and has made his love of the club well known. "I was not a Liverpool fan or a Chelsea fan in Madrid," he once said. "I was an Atletico fan. I still am. Maybe they're the only badge I will kiss." Torres scored 91 goals in 244 appearances for Atletico after making his debut as a 17-year-old in 2001.

The Spain striker sent a message to the Atletico fans on Monday, saying: "Nobody can doubt how I'll feel wearing that shirt again. Atletico fans always demand your all on the field and I guarantee that I will give them that and more."
Liverpool signed him from the Spanish club in 2007 and, after thrilling Anfield for the best part of four years, he left for Chelsea in a £50m switch but the move started a steady decline in his personal fortunes. Despite winning the FA Cup, UEFA Europa League and 

Champions League, he found goals hard to come by and a return of 45 goals in 172 games, while not prolific, is still not a true reflection of his struggles.
Just 20 of those goals were in the Premier League, scant return compared to the 65 the double European champion and one-time World Cup winner got for Liverpool. He joined Milan at the start of the season but has continued to labour for goals, netting just once.
A statement from Atletico read: "Fernando Torres returns to Atletico Madrid after an agreement reached by our club with Milan for the international striker to play on loan for the remainder of the season and one more. The player will have a medical on 5 January. He returns home, where he trained as a player and became one of our biggest stars."

Chelsea won't sign new players-Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he has no plans to sign any new players during the January
transfer window.

Mourinho believes that his current squad can deal with the workload of competing in four
competitions.

"We cannot be better than first in the League, top of our Champions League group and in the
quarter finals of the Capital On Cup, "he said.

The Blues face Hull City in the Premier League today without injured goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Petr Cech will replace the 22-year old Belgium international, who has a "minor" muscular injury.

Cesc Fabregas is suspended, but Serbia midfielder Nemanja Matic returns from a ban after missing
the 1-2 defeat at Newcastle last weekend.
